Toads are strange creatures. I’ve heard that they are ferocious hunters; voraciously devouring their prey. Able to catch flies. But they seem fairly slow and predictable to me. I’m a bit surprised that they survive at all. I would assume that nearly every predator on the planet would have the ability to wipe them out. Yet they seem fairly common. Clearly there’s something I’m missing. I need to do a bit of research and learn how it is that toads survive. And thrive, apparently.

Seems to me it’s because they move with lightning speed at the right moment, and just meditate and watch the rest of the time. Kind of like baseball. Which begs the question, why are baseball players spoiled, doped-up and prone to spitting, grabbing themselves and slugging each other? At least the domestic variety.
I think I’d enjoy watching a game in Japan.
In Japan, don’t they hike one leg while holding the bat? Or is that just crap I’ve seen on TV?
I love the random walk…
Back re. toads: I’ve thought about the meditation and conservation of action angle. Definitely something there.
